By using lostartisans.com (the “Website”), you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions (the “Terms”).
Lost Artisans (also referred to as “we”, “us”, “our”) may change these Terms at any time by posting changes on the Website. - Our One of a Kind commissions
We would like to propose something different to a society bombarded by the white-noise of mass production. At Lost Artisans each piece is original and made to your order. By investing in our wares, you are not only discovering a bespoke piece but also its story, sentiment, and the process of its creation. Our ethos involves finding true masters of their field, venerating the stories behind them and their art. In doing so we draw connections between Artisan, their creations, and our customers. By helping you understanding the motivations behind the hands which crafted our pieces, we intend for you to cherish your original piece for a lifetime, to have and to hold with the knowledge of its story.
Since all of our wares are handmade and one of a kind they will vary slightly from their pictures: images on our website and social media are for illustrative purposes only, where we cannot guarantee a replica of item depicted. Our editing team have made every effort to accurately portray our products, however given that all are made by hand, any depicted sizes, weights, capacities, dimensions and measurements will be approximate. You must be 18 years of age or older and able to enter into a legally binding contract to buy via our Website.
Lost Artisans does not stock any of the items listed on or sold through the website. We are responsible for the literary content, product listings and related information provided to us and the buyers. Sellers are responsible for the safe and undamaged supply and delivery of the items sold through the website.
You must not communicate with artisans directly, nor produce unwanted communications, threats, intimidations, or otherwise abuse any other user, Artisan or member of our team. You must not post, list or upload false, inaccurate, misleading or defamatory content, including personal and/or business information.
You must not modify or adapt or ‘hack’ the Lost Artisans Website or seek to create another website or communication to users that implies it is associated to Lost Artisans. You must not transmit or seek to transmit any viruses or worms or any code that seeks to alter the behaviour of the Website or that is in any way destructive.
- Your Registered Account with Us
As you follow the steps in the checkout process, be sure to review your order before confirming it. In order to successfully purchase one of our pieces, you must ether create an online account, By doing so, we can keep you up to date with our Artisans’ latest releases, and the launching of new creators. Alternatively, you can enter as a ‘guest’ where you do not have to create an online account with us.
If you choose to create an account with us, we will send you an acknowledgement email which will contain key information. If you choose to create an account with us it is your responsibility to keep your account details safe and confidential: not disclose them to any third party. Inform us at hello@lostartisans.com if you suspect somebody else of possessing your username and password. In addition, we have the right to disable any user password for any reason.
All orders made will receive an email to confirm your purchase – keep this safe since it is a receipt, or legally binding contract between you and Lost Artisans. After this, we will make motions to initiate the creation and dispatch of your commission.
If any pieces within the same order are not charged for, they will not be dispatched at the same time and are not included within that same contract.
- DATA PROTECTION
We follow and encourage best practice with use of personal data. We comply with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) when dealing with all data received from user of the site. We only hold the data necessary to offer services provided on our website, namely to allow users of the service to buy and sell and also contact one another. - LIABILITY
We try to keep Lost Artisans safe, secure, and functioning properly, but we cannot guarantee the continuous operation of or access to our Services.
Whilst we use techniques that aim to verify the accuracy and truth of the information provided by our users, user verification on the internet is difficult. We cannot ensure the accuracy or truthfulness of users' purported identities or the validity of the information which they provide to us or post on our site.
Nothing in these Terms seeks to limit or exclude consumers’ legal rights.
- GENERAL
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the law of Scotland.
If any of the provisions of these Terms are found to be unlawful, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by any court or other authority, that / those provision(s) shall be deemed severed from the remainder of these Terms which shall be valid and enforceable.
